The tie line between the steel ball of the touching ball bearing and the connecting point of the inner and outer rings is at an angle with the radial direction.
The touching angles generally can be divided into 15°, 30°and 50°which can be represented with the letters C, A and B. The special bearing whose touching angel is 25°manufactured by NSK is represented with A5.
The angular touching bearing mainly undertakes the larger axial load for the singular direction. The bigger the touching angle is, the bigger its load capacity is. The materials for the retainer are steel plates, brass or engineering plastics; the forming methods are stamping or turning which will be selected on the basis of bearings’ forms or operating conditions. The other combinations are combination angular touching ball bearings, double-row angular touching ball bearings and four-point touching ball bearings.
The angular touching ball bears can undertake both the radial load and axial load in the meantime. Such bearings can work at a high rotational speed. The bigger the touching angle is, the greater the bearing’s load capacity is. The high-accuracy and high-speed bearings usually take 15°touching angle.
Under the action of axial force, the touching angle will be bigger. The single-row touching ball bearing can only undertake the axial load from one direction. While undertaking the axial load, additional axial force will be aroused and the axis or the shell’s axial displacement is limited to only one direction.
If they are installed in pairs, the shells of the pairs’ bearings will be comparative, i.e. the wide end surface to the wide end surface and the narrow end surface to the narrow end surface. In this way, the additional axial force will not be aroused and the axis or shell will be able to be limited within the axial clearance range from two directions.
The angle touching ball bearing can comparatively displace on the horizontal axis because of its inner-ring and outer-ring’s trajectories. So it can undertake both the radial load and axial load in the meantime — combined load (Single-row angle touching ball bearing can only undertake the axial load from one direction. So they are usually installed in pairs. ) The materials for the retainer are brass and plasthetics, etc. The materials are differentiated on the basis of bearings’ forms and operating conditions.
