Aluminum alloy forging: It can be forged on various forging equipment such as forging hammers, mechanical presses, hydraulic presses, top forging machines, and hole expanding machines, and can be freely forged, forged, rolled, top forged, roll forged, and hole expanded. Generally speaking, aluminum forgings with small size, simple shape, and less strict deviation requirements can be easily forged on a hammer. However, for aluminum forgings with large specifications and severe deformation requirements, it is advisable to use a hydraulic press for forging.

Characteristics of aluminum alloy forgings:

① Low density, aluminum alloy has a density of only 34% of steel forgings and 30% of copper forgings, making it an ideal material for lightweight construction;

② High specific strength, high specific stiffness, high specific elastic modulus, and high fatigue strength, it is suitable for key load-bearing components with high lightweight requirements, and its comprehensive performance is much higher than that of other materials;

③ The internal organization is fine, uniform, and defect free, and its reliability is much higher than that of aluminum alloy castings and die castings, as well as other material castings;

④ Aluminum alloy has good plasticity and can be processed into high-precision forgings with various complex shapes. The machining allowance is small, only about 20% of the machining allowance for aluminum alloy stretched thick plates, greatly saving time and cost;

⑤ Aluminum forgings have excellent corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity, and non-magnetic properties, which are unmatched by steel forgings;

⑥ The surface is smooth and beautiful, with good surface treatment performance and durability. It can be seen that aluminum forgings have a series of excellent characteristics, providing favorable conditions for aluminum forgings to replace steel, copper, magnesium, wood, and plastic.
