What is the difference between single-sided grease injection and double-sided grease injection for bearings
Single or double-sided grease injection has little effect on commonly used bearings; Mainly for bearings with double-sided grease injection, the grease inside
the raceway is relatively less, and most of it is concentrated on the cage. The grease consumption is relatively better, but an additional grease injection procedure
is required during grease injection, which is more troublesome. Some old machine tools cannot have this thing, but new machines have it. It is not a special
requirement from the customer, and double-sided is generally not used. It is also difficult to control, especially for outer diameter sizes below 47.
The main difference between single-sided and double-sided grease injection for bearings lies in the distribution and applicable scenarios of the lubricating
grease.
1. Characteristics of single-sided grease injection
Easy to operate: Single sided grease injection only requires injecting lubricating grease from one end of the bearing, making the operation relatively simple
and easy to maintain.
Easy maintenance: No need for complex sealing structures, easy control of injection volume, can avoid lubrication failure caused by excessive injection.
Applicable scenarios: Suitable for low-speed and low load situations, such as agricultural machinery and some smaller bearings.
2. Characteristics of double-sided grease injection
Comprehensive lubrication: Double sided grease is injected into both ends of the bearing to achieve comprehensive radial and axial lubrication, ensuring even
distribution of grease.
Applicable scenarios: Suitable for high-speed, high load, and long-term operation scenarios, such as heavy machinery, wind turbines, railway vehicles, and other
large equipment.
3. Comparison of advantages and disadvantages
The advantages of single-sided grease injection are: easy operation, easy maintenance, no need for complex sealing structures, and easy control of injection
volume.
Disadvantage: Unable to achieve axial lubrication, which may result in uneven lubrication for bearings with high speed and high load, affecting equipment life.
The advantages of double-sided grease injection are: achieving comprehensive lubrication in both axial and radial directions, ensuring even distribution of
lubricating grease, and improving bearing life.
Disadvantage: It requires the design of a suitable sealing structure, which increases the difficulty and workload of construction.
