What is a resin retainer


Cage, a bearing component that partially wraps all or part of the rolling elements and moves with them, is used to isolate the rolling elements, usually guiding 

them and holding them inside the bearing. Material of the cage: During operation, rolling bearings generate heat and wear due to sliding friction, especially 

under high temperature operating conditions. The action of inertial centrifugal force intensifies friction, wear, and heat, and in severe cases, it can cause burns 

or fractures of the cage, resulting in the bearing not working properly. Therefore, the material required for the retaining frame must not only have a certain 

strength, but also have good thermal conductivity, low friction coefficient, good wear resistance, strong impact toughness, low density, and a linear expansion 

coefficient close to that of the rolling elements.


In addition, stamping retainers need to withstand complex stamping deformations and require materials with good processability. Resin cage is a bearing 

component made of synthetic resin material, mainly used to isolate and guide rolling elements, and maintain their stable operation inside the bearing. Resin 

retaining frames are usually made by mixing thermosetting epoxy resin with reinforcing materials such as glass fibers, which have excellent mechanical 

properties and environmental characteristics.


Advantages of resin retaining frame

Excellent mechanical properties: The resin cage body material has high strength and rigidity, which can effectively protect the supported cables and wires, 

while ensuring stable operation of the cables in harsh environments such as high temperature, low temperature, and humidity.

Good processability: The processing technology of resin retaining frames has been greatly improved and developed, enabling the production of almost any 

shape and size.


Environmental Protection and Purification: The resin holder does not use toxic or harmful substances, and will not cause pollution to the environment. It is 

a green and environmentally friendly material.

Disadvantages of resin retaining frame

High cost: Compared with traditional metal cages, resin cages have a higher cost, which is one of the difficulties in their promotion and application.

Susceptible to UV irradiation embrittlement: The resin holder will become brittle when exposed to UV radiation for a long time, so protective measures need to 

be taken in practical use.


Application scenarios of resin retaining frames

Resin retaining frames have been widely used in power transmission and distribution systems, and are a new type of material with broad application prospects. 

In addition, resin retainers are also used in bearings, especially in applications that require lightweight, low torque, and high lubrication performance.
