How to lubricate the clutch release bearing?
Most domestic car clutches adopt the enclosed side-pressure ball bearing design, the lubricants used are mainly calcium-based and calcium-sodium-based greases. When lubricating the release bearing, many repairmen mix 50% ofating oil and 50% of grease, heat it to melt, and then immerse the release bearing in the oil to fill it up, and then
it down. Although this method completes the lubrication task, its effect is poor because heating destroys the structure of the calcium-based grease, reducing the lubrication
performance the grease, leading to early wear of the release bearing and shortening its service life. The correct method is to use a lubricator for lubrication. For-end cars,
imported lubricating oil must be used.
(1) Non-disassembly lubrication method: First, open the clutch cover and observe the wear condition of release bearing. If the bearing is undamaged or the wear is within the
limit, remove the clutch pedal, adjust the connecting rod pin to make the release bearing its seat retreat to the last position. Use a pointed grease gun to add grease to the
bearing seat hole until the bearing overflows with oil. Then, slightly the bearing, add oil again, and repeat this process until a small amount of grease overflows around the
bearing. Then, make the bearing turn and observe the quantity. If you feel resistance when turning the bearing, it means the bearing is full of grease. Then, clean up the small
amount of grease that overflows the release bearing seat, and reassemble the removed parts and the clutch cover.
(2) Disassembly lubrication method: Disassemble the engine to expose the bearing and bearing seat assembly. Use a pointed grease gun to add oil to the small oil hole below
the inner circle of the release bearing seat. When the bearingflows with grease, rotate the bearing until grease overflows all around the bearing. After being treated by the
above two methods, the release bearing does not need to oiled again within half a year.
