A ball bearing is a device that converts sliding into rollers, thereby reducing friction. Common equipment using ball bearings are motor drive shafts, transmission parts of light (civil) motor vehicles, machining equipment, mechanical transmission assemblies in factory production lines, etc.
What are the characteristics of ball bearings?
What are the precautions for installing ball bearings?
How to use ball bearings correctly?
Ball bearings are used in various machines and systems with rotating parts. Designers often have to decide whether to use a ball bearing or a fluid film bearing in a particular application. The following features make ball bearings more desirable than liquid film bearings in many applications:
1. Low start-up friction and suitable working friction.
2. Can withstand combined radial and axial loads.
3. Insensitive to interruption of lubrication.
4. No self-induced instability.
5. Starting at low temperature is easy.
In ball bearing assembly, there are the drive-in method, the press-in method and the shrinkage method. In the impact process, a copper rod or housing should be used as a power transmission tool so that the force acting on the bearing is symmetrical. The press-in process uses a press instead of hammers and continues to use the housing to transmit the force. It is strictly forbidden to heat directly with a flame during hot charging, and it should be heated with hot oil at 80.90°C, and the oil temperature should not exceed 100°C. When the bearing is heated, it should have no contact with the seat of the heating oil tank, and the bearing should be suspended in the middle of the oil layer to avoid annealing due to local overheating.
The heating time of the ball bearing must not be less than 15 minutes and the inner sleeve must be expanded to the required value before installation. There should be no pause during the shrinking process and the bearing should be installed in the correct position at once. If the steel ball cage in the bearing is made of non-oil-resistant plastic, it should be heated with water, but the moisture should be wiped dry in time after installation.
Does the ball bearing have requirements on the mounting area and location?
Yes. When foreign objects such as iron chips, burrs, dust, etc. penetrate into the ball bearing, this causes noise and vibration during the operation of the bearing and even damages the raceway and rolling elements. Therefore, before installing the bearing, make sure that the installation surface and the installation environment are clean.
2. Does the ball bearing need to be cleaned before installation?
The surface of the ball bearing is coated with anti-rust oil. You need to carefully clean it with clean gasoline or kerosene, and then apply clean, high-quality or high-speed and high-temperature grease before installation and use. The impact of cleanliness on bearing life and vibration noise is very large. But we would like to remind you: the fully enclosed warehouse does not need to be cleaned and refueled.
Only the selected high-quality ball bearings can fully exploit their advantages. Shandong Xuanye Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. is committed to providing perfect ball bearings and perfect service to each customer.
